The Wraith is a small and skinny assassin who follows Swartt until Nightshade discovers him, then the former hires him to infiltrate Salamandastron and kill Sunflash. He has no teeth, carries a tiny poisoned stone knife he calls "Kisser", stretches his "R"'s when speaking, has mottled fur which acts as a natural camouflage, and shows off his skills by swiftly slaying Glimpy. He later climbs up Salamandastron's side and hides underneath a window ledge until he strikes, however before he can attack he is hit by two otter rockcreams (rocks smothered in cream) that are thrown by Porty as they are actually meant for Folrig and Ruddle but miss the otters. The impact sends him flying off the ledge and down the mountainside, and while falling he accidentally stabs himself in the jaw with his knife which results in his death.
