Urthwyte is a large resident of the island in the middle of the Great Inland Lake, though he is originally from the Southwest Lands, and wields a big oak club. He is the grandson of Urthclaw and Loambudd, orphaned son of Urthound and Urthrun, and twin brother of Urthstripe. His name is derived from the fact that he is albino, completely covered from head to tail in white fur and does not sport the black headstripe. When he is barely a season old he suffers a terrible tragedy when Ferahgo murders both his parents, and the weasel leaves both infants to perish in the upcoming winter. The babes survive but at one point are separated, and he grows up with Ashnin and Loambudd on the aforementioned island without even being aware of his brother's existence. He is sometimes afflicted by the Bloodwrath and, despite his size, quite gentle. Due to his white fur others think he is a spirit, and he uses this to his advantage by scaring away any unwanted guests. He is eventually found by Mara who tells him about his brother and the war against Ferahgo, and along with her and the GUOSSSOM he travels to Salamandastron where he arrives just after Urthstripe sacrifices his life to kill Ferahgo, and he takes the medal from the former who had previously stolen it from his murdered father. He repairs and wears his brother's armour (he is known to be skilled at making battle equipment), succeeds him as Lord, and rules for many seasons. In High Rhulain it is revealed that he is friends with the High Queen Rhulain Wildlough and works on her armour even after her murder; this armour is worn by her descendant Tiria innumerable seasons later.
