Uggo is a young resident of Redwall who, like all Wiltuds, can be gluttonous. He is the presumed relative of Drogbuk, Pinny, and Twoggs, and ordered to work in the Kitchen for three days after stealing and eating an entire fruitcake. As a result he comes down with a horrendous stomachache and envisions Greenshroud charging towards the Abbey with Razzid at the wheel. He joins Jum on the trip to find the otter's uncle Wullow who supposedly knows a lot about Wearats, and during the journey he is captured by Snaggs' gang. Here he meets Posy and they eventually escape with help from Jum and four Whoomers, however while sailing off on a logboat they are assaulted by a sudden storm and Jum is tossed into the sea. The two hedgehogs are caught by Razzid, and Uggo is interrogated by the evil Wearat who orders him to reveal how to get to Redwall but he cannot tell him as he is extremely lost. An angry Razzid throws them into a storeroom but they escape again with assistance from the Whoomers. The pair meet up with the Fortunate Freepaws and GUOSIM, then the Long Patrol and Rogue Crew Sea Otters; all the creatures arrive at Redwall just before Razzid attacks. During the final battle he is given Martin's sword by Thibb and ordered to not let any vermin inside the main building, and he is inside the Kitchen when Badtooth and Razzid break in through a window. He immediately kills the former but accidentally drops the sword, thus allowing the latter to cruelly torture him with the barbed trident. Uggo is stabbed in the footpaw and rescued when Posy appears, skewering the Wearat through the stomach with Martin's sword. Razzid is then killed by Jum, and Uggo survives the terrifying ordeal. It is unknown whether he and Posy wed.
