Tura is a young resident of Mossflower and thrown into Althier after being captured by the Ravagers. As one of the oldest of the captives she helps in caring for the babes, and after Binta and Thwip notice this they have her guard three very weak squirrelbabes. She assist in keeping watch when Guffy, Gurchen, and Flib start digging an escape tunnel, but the tunnel collapses and Flandor is killed by Vilaya not long after. She and Midda become the new ringleaders, and while they often argue they put that aside to conceive a new escape plan when Diggla discovers a crack in the wall of their new cell. She finds a cave system on the other side and they all run in, with Calla and Urfa being carried on her back as they are too young to walk. The group eventually encounters Triggut who promises them freedom if they agree to follow him, however upon arriving at his island he forces them to start building him a new house and threatens to feed a captured Diggla to some resident pike. She feigns construction knowledge to buy her friends some time and, that night, tries to save Diggla but is stopped by some toads who guard Triggut; the amphibians tie her up and throw her back to the group. They are all rescued by the timely arrival of Ambry and Diggs, and she stays with the infants at Mumzy's home until they are relocated to redwall.
