Tollum is the fat and sad-faced Abbey Bellringer who, when Globby locks himself in the Attic and refuses to open the door, volunteers to swing in through a window in hopes of getting vital information from the stoat about the missing youngsters. He is unaware that Globby wields a small knife, and as they strike he is stabbed in the midriff by the weapon. Tollum's body suddenly goes stiff from the pain and his outstretched paws smack Globby below his throat which results in his windpipe fatally snapping. It is presumed that the squirrel is later buried on the Abbey grounds.
