Tiria Wildlough, High Queen Rhulain
Gender: female
Species: otter
Appears In: High Rhulain
Tiria is a young resident of Redwall who expertly wields a sling she calls "Wuppit". She is the descendant of Alem, Corriam, High Queen Rhulain Wildlough, and Runa, and daughter of Banjon (her mother passes away when she is very young). She is extremely lean, best friends with Brinty, Girry, and Tribsy, and dreams of becoming a Skipper like her father. While out in Mossflower she and her three pals happen upon Groffgut's gang cruelly torturing a wounded Pandion, and after rescuing the bird she pulls the iron barb from his beak and vows to kill the one responsible for putting it there. That night she dreams of her ancestor and Martin, with the former reciting a mysterious poem that asks her to free the Green Isle otterclans from Felis's tyranny as she is destined to do so. Brantalis - who has since arrived at the Abbey from the island with a wound - gives her directions to Salamandastron and she sets out on her quest with some help from Banjon, Brink, and Pandion. Upon arriving at the mountain thanks to Cuthbert and the GUOSIM taking her here aboard Purloined Petunia, she is given her ancestor's armour made by Urthwyte from Mandoral, who also makes her a new sharkskin sling. She travels to Green Isle with a group of Long Patrol hares, and Brantalis delivers the High Queen Rhulain's coronet to her. In the final battle she fulfills her promise by killing Felis with the iron barb, thus freeing the island from his evil reign and completing the prophecy of her becoming High Queen Rhulain. During a celebratory feast not long after she learns of Brinty's murder by Brantalis, and she leaves the meal to weep. Leatho, who has since become close friends with the Queen, joins her in hopes of giving her some comfort. He presents her with a wooden carving of an otter whose rudder has been shaved down so it resembles a mouse, and together they perform the ancient Green Isle ritual of throwing it into the lake. She rules from Holt Summerdell, befriends Banya and Deedero, and writes letters to Lycian that are delivered back and forth by Brantalis.
