Timballisto - also known as Timbal, Tim, and T.B. - is a young member of Luke's tribe who lives with them on the North Shores. He is the grandfather of Barlom and so named because of his skills at designing, building, and using a ballista. In his youth he loves Fripple, grieves heavily when she is killed by Daskar's crew in a brutal ambush, and left in charge of the tribe when Luke sets off to find the pirate stoat. At one point he is captured by Ripfang's crew and made an oarslave aboard Bloodwake where, during Boar's Battle, he is reunited with his good friend Martin. He joins the mouse Warrior on the trip back to Mossflower where he uses a ballista that throws stones at Kotir, resulting in its destruction. He passes away from unknown causes the following winter.
