Thura is a soldier in Ferahgo's horde who deserts with his good friend Dingeye. They wander lost through Mossflower until they see Redwall and are brought inside where they are treated kindly. While playing with a bow and arrow they accidentally kill Hal, stealing Martin's sword in a panic and running back into the woodlands. While here he suddenly contracts Dryditch Fever and dies moments later. He is considered to be a "grey character" because he appears to have a good heart.
