Thrugg is a resident of Redwall where he lives with his sister Thrugann. When the feared Dryditch Fever ravages his home he and Dumble head off to the Northern Mountains in search of the only known cure, the Flowers of Icetor. While on their trek they meet various friends and foes, including a fox band and Mactalon's clan who save them from some crows. He is a tough fighter and boldly confronts MacPhearsome in order to retrieve the precious flowers, returning to the Abbey with the plant as well as his falcon friends. As thanks for saving the Abbey, Bellows gives him a carved spoon and applewood bowl with his name engraved on it; the good Friar says he can get it filled with hotroot soup anytime he wishes.
