Tammbeak is a fierce member of Mactalon's clan who lives with them in the Northern Mountains. As they call each other "clanbirds" he is presumably related to them, and he is most likely second-in-command. He is friends with Rocangus and is the first to find him, Dumble, and Thrugg when they are attacked by some crows. After the two Redwallers find the Flowers of Icetor he brings them back to the Abbey.
