Tramun Josiah Cuttlefish Clogg, Captain
(Clogg)

Gender: male

Species: stoat

Appears In: Martin the Warrior

Tramun - better known as Clogg - is the very fat Captain of Seascarab who wields a cutlass. He has braided fur, a pair of wooden clogs, and used to sail alongside Badrang until the two get into a fiery argument. He grows jealous over Badrang's success as an army leader and feels he should receive half the Tyrant's treasure, so he sails across the sea to Marshank where he launches an attack. This attempt fails and he is forced to retreat and gets stranded when Skalrag burns his ship and scuttles the longboats, though he does manage to capture the fox. As he has realized that he cannot breach the fortress walls he has Skalrag spy for him in exchange for his freedom, however the fox is eventually killed by a suspicious Badrang. He decides to agree to an alliance with Badrang despite the fact that both stoats despise each other, and he has his crew camp on the coast. At one point he is approached by a disguised Ballaw who requests that they grant his group permission to enter Marshank to put on a show, although this is actually meant to be a diversion so Felldoh can free the slaves. Clogg agrees, and most of the prisoners are freed during the performance. He later asks Oilback to sneak into Marshank and assassinate Badrang, but this also fails when the rat kills Gurrad as he thinks he is the Tyrant; Oilback steals the flagon Gurrad had been carrying, unaware that it is poisoned as Badrang ordered Gurrad to deliver it to Clogg in hopes of killing him. During all this, Brome and Keyla free the remaining slaves which results in an angry Badrang leading his army in pursuit and Marshank temporarily abandoned. Clogg immediately takes advantage of this and sneaks inside, locking the main gates, but he forgets about the Prison Pit tunnel and Badrang reenters through this. Clogg's crew then decides to ally with the Tyrant and abandon their Captain, who is made a slave and forced to dig graves for slain vermin. Despite his predicament he constantly harasses Badrang, warning him that one day he will bury him. Thanks to constant work and being struck on the head by the Tyrant, Clogg becomes mentally insane. During the Battle of Marshank he hides in a secret place, and along with Wulpp he is the only confirmed survivor. When the Fur and Freedom Fighters leave he reappears, walking around the gutted fortress and speaking to dead soldiers before happening upon a slain Badrang. He chats with him for a while, and his fate is unknown. Clogg is named in honour of American publicist Chris Turman, he is Mr. Jacques' favourite baddie, and he is one of the only known major villains to not die at some point in their respective book.
