Swinkee is a small resident of the dunes near Salamandastron who has a bright yellow stomach and enjoys eating insects. He first meets Mara and Pikkle when they sleep in his cave, accidentally making it larger as well as severing his tail. He feigns friendliness and guides them for a short while before betraying the pair and handing them over to Glagweb, who has promised him food in exchange for prisoners.
