Starbuck is a resident of Salamandastron and member of the Long Patrol. He is the son of Buffheart and Lupin, older brother of Breeze, and ancestor of Reeve. During Boar's Battle they are ordered to guard the mountain's entrance, and many seasons later he waits for Sunflash's arrival with his sister. The two siblings later die from old age according to a prophecy.
