Southpaw - presumably derived from him being left-pawed, as "southpaw" is a boxing term for someone who is left-handed - is a young resident of Salamandastron where he lives with his grandfather Stiffener and twin brother Bobweave. The siblings are orphans and taught to be champion boxers by their grandfather, later leaving the mountain to eventually end up in Bucko's court. After helping Dotti to defeat the King, they join Brocktree's army and help to defeat the Blue Hordes.
