Soogum is the large Abbey Friar who possesses a good heart and does not like anybeast going hungry. He is friends with Marjoram and often sleeps in due to being a little older, thus when Globby infiltrates the Kitchen he has no idea as he is asleep. The young stoat makes a gigantic mess and is eventually caught by Ruark who then hands him over to the Friar, and he forces Globby to clean up everything. While figuring out what to do with the intruder he ties him to a table so he cannot escape but forgets to move some silverware away, so Globby uses a knife to cut through his ropes and escapes.
