Snow is a large resident of Mossflower's outskirts who lives with his friend Julian on a farm until he is banished during an argument due to his feeding habits. He is the descendant of Glacier and Nyctea. At one point he becomes trapped in a tree during a storm and rescued by Basil, giving the hare a medal as thanks. This medal is later used by Matthias so that Snow will not eat him, as the owl is known to devour mice, and to find out information as to Asmodeus's whereabouts. Snow outright says he does not believe the young mouse will succeed in his quest for the famous sword, so Matthias strikes a deal with him: if he does kill Asmodeus and take the sword back, Snow will never eat another mouse or shrew for the remainder of his seasons as well as apologize to Julian. He is shocked to see Matthias return some time later with the sword but keeps his end of the bargain, with Julian also apologizing and the friends reconcile. After Cluny's death the two slay any remaining vermin.
