This group of Long Patrol hares is led by Hedgepaw, and are so named because they lay in shallow sand-covered trenches during battle. They wait until the vermin are close then jump out of the trenches, throw javelins at the front ranks, and retreat back to Salamandastron. This move encourages the foe to pursue them, not spotting the trenches filled with sharp stakes until it is too late.
