Skipper is the leader of Redwall otters who wields a sling. He is the direct descendant of Deyna, Deyna/Tagg, Filorn, Mhera, and Rillflag, uncle of Churk and Rumbol, and helps Groo to rescue Bikkle and Ruggum when they are lost in Mossflower. He is visited by Martin's spirit who tells him to give the sword to Triss when she arrives at the Abbey, and later participates in battle at both Brockhall and Riftgard. At one point Apodemus asks him to be the Abbey Warrior but he respectfully declines, stating that he does not feel he is the chosen one and instead becomes Master of Arms.
