Skipper is the leader of Mossflower otters who wields a javelin and sling, and has a pike tattoo on one of his paws from Rukky. When his good pal Rillflag and an infant Deyna/Tagg go missing he searches for them, later befriending Filorn and Mhera. He is at the Hullabaloo when Redwall is attacked by some of the Juskazann vermin, and even though Boorab goes to find them they are too late to help. They do, however, arrive before Bor's tribe appears. After Deyna is severely wounded fighting the Juskazann he takes him to Rukky, knowing she is the only one who can heal him.
