Sicariss is a resident of Mossflower who acts as Korvus's advisor and perches atop his head like a crown, similar to what her ancestor Sumiss did with Rigvar. She hypnotizes other creatures so Skurr can know if they are lying or telling the truth during interrogation, and she exploits his superstitious nature by pretending to communicate with Welzz (the raven believes him to be an oracle). This is actually a trick as she cannot talk to the catfish and it only appears as if they are speaking because when Welzz spots her he rises up from the lake since he knows her appearance usually means he will receive food; Sicariss then simply tells Skurr what to do based on her own opinion. Upon hearing that the raven has made a deal with Baliss - if he succeeds in terrorizing the Redwallers then he will be given all the Doomwyte reptiles and amphibians - she does not trust him and plans on deserting. When Skurr discovers that she has been tricking him the entire time about communicating with Welzz, he throws her to the catfish who immediately eats her.
