Shorebuck is a young resident of Salamandastron and member of the Long Patrol who wields a sling. After battle against Ferahgo's horde (his first taste of fighting) he eats but suddenly dies as the food has all been poisoned by Farran. His death, along with Windpaw's murder, is avenged by Urthstripe when he forces the fox's own poison down his throat.
