Scruvo is the leader of a jackdaw gang that resides in Saint Ninian's Church. Like most of his species he loves shiny objects and enjoys stealing them, snatching one of the Tears of all Oceans from a house martin's nest at Redwall. His gang attacks some Abbey residents who travel to the ancient church as they are trying to find the pearl, and they kill Piknim. He is slain by Rangapaw.
