Screamhole

This very large pit in the Toadlands is so named because of the screams that arise from the prisoners who are throw in here. It has slippery walls so that they cannot escape, and it is home to Snakefish. After Big Club, Dinny, and Martin are captured by the toads they are tossed into the pit where they reunite with Gonff (who had been caught by the amphibians earlier). The group befriends Snakefish and escape, the eel exacts his revenge on his cruel tormentors, and Marshgreen is forced to show the four woodlanders the way out of the Toadlands. Innumerable seasons later, Mara and Pikkle are thrown into the pit by Glagweb's toads along with some GUOSSSOM shrews. They dig a hole so the foes cannot reach them with their nooses and escape when Log a Log saves them.
