Sagitar is a large resident of Sampetra who acts as Ublaz's second-in-command and leader of the Trident-rat army. She is slender, muscular, intelligent, and given a lot of power when Lask leaves for Mossflower to find the Tears of all Oceans. She leads her soldiers against Barranca's rebellion and almost captures him, however when it appears as if the corsairs will win she betrays the Emperor and allies herself with Rasconza (who has taken over the Wave Brethren after secretly killing Barranca). During the final battle, the fox witnesses the burning of his ship and decides that Sagitar has played a role in this so he throws one of his knives at her. The mortally wounded rat says something and when Rasconza bends down to hear her better she uses her last ounce of strength to kill him with her trident, claiming that she never throws her weapon away before dying.
