Robald is a well-built resident of Mossflower who lives by himself (as a result he can be quite chatty to visitors) in a hut along a streambank. He meets Deyna/Tagg and Nimbalo after they find him rolled into a protective ball, and he tells them that he had been attacked by Gruven's cronies; when he curled into a spiky ball they pushed him around in some mud that hardens, though he survived by using a reed to breathe through. He later moves to live with Lollery.
