Ripfang - so named because of his very long fang - is a former corsair who, along with his brother Doomeye, joins the Blue Hordes. He wields a dagger and cutlass, quickly named a Captain due to his experience, often charged with important duties, and gains even more favour with Trunn after he says he has spotted Brocktree. Prior to the final duel between the badger and wildcat, he and Doomeye are ordered to climb to Salamandastron's top armed with a bow and arrow; while he acts as a lookout, his brother is supposed to be a sniper and kill Brocktree if the fight goes awry. When it appears as if Trunn is losing, Doomeye targets the badger's head and releases the arrow but no sooner does he let it fly that Brocktree moves and the missile strikes his shoulder. Doomeye attempts to set another arrow to the bowstring but is unaware that Ruff has seen them, and he is killed by the otter's javelin. A horrified Ripfang flees and is aboard one of the ships after Trunn's defeat, shoving Karangool into the sea so he can steer the vessel. According to Mr. Jacques, he is not the same Ripfang from Mossflower.
