Rimrose is a resident of Mossflower who lives here with her family. She is the wife of Janglur, daughter-in-law of Gawjo and Ellayo, and mother of Song. When the Marlfoxes arrive in the woodlands the squirrels move to Redwall to warn the residents, and while here she helps Sloey with wounded defenders. During Ascrod's attempt to sneak inside she verbally guides Cregga in firing a huge arrow that kills him, and after the vermin have been defeated she becomes Butty's assistant Recorder (later succeeding him).
