Rillflag is a spear-wielding resident of Redwall who lives here with his family. He is the great-grandson of Deyna, husband of Filorn, father of Deyna/Tagg and Mhera, and ancestor of Churk, Rumbol, and Skipper (Triss). Not long after his son's birth he takes him to perform an ancient otter ritual in which the infant's back touches moving water. While at the ford he spots watershrimp and starts to gather some up to bring back to the Abbey, however as he stands up he is shot in the heart by one of Vallug's arrows upon orders from Sawney (who has been hiding nearby waiting to kidnap the Taggerung) and dies instantly. His body is never recovered but his spirit often appears in his children's dreams, and his murder is avenged about fifteen seasons later by Deyna/Tagg when he decapitates Vallug.
