Reynard - possibly derived from "Reynard the Fox", a sly fox from medieval European folklore - is the cutlass-wielding Captain of Greenhawk whose surname comes from the fact that he loses his nose to a ferret during a duel; he has a wad of pitch as a replacement. His crew attempts to ambush Luke's tribe but the mice know what they are planning and prepare, and the fight is over fairly quickly when he is killed by the mouse Warrior's sword.
