Razzid is the sinewy leader of Irgash Isle and Captain of Greenshroud who wields a barbed trident. He is ugly, extremely vicious, and leads his crew on a trail of complete destruction that sees innocent villages gutted and creatures slain; this particular season becomes known as the Winter of Slaughter. He then ignores Shekra's omens and sails to the High North Coast so he can defeat the Rogue Crew Sea Otters, however Skor's band sees him coming and prepares. The ensuing ambush results in both Greenshroud and Razzid receiving severe burns, and he manages to return to Irgash Isle where he is taken to a secret stockade to be nursed back to health. During this time, Braggio takes over as leader and has the ship outfitted with four huge wheels as well as two gigantic crossbows. The bold ferret later hosts a party to celebrate but is caught by surprise when a very much alive Razzid suddenly appears, though he has horrible scars as a result of his burns, and decapitates Braggio with a hatchet. He sticks the ferret's skull atop the mainmast and sets his sights on Redwall thanks to Shekra mentioning the place to him, and some time into the trip he captures Posy and Uggo after they escape from Snaggs' gang. He attempts to trick them into revealing where Redwall is located but fails and they flee, though Shekra later snatches up Drogbuk and they use alcohol to entice the old hedgehog into telling them how to get to the Abbey. During the journey he notices that morale is lowering amongst the crew who are also losing respect for him, particularly after the unnecessary murder of Dirgo. Upon witnessing this, Shekra sides with Jiboree and Mowlag in a planned mutiny but Razzid quickly becomes suspicious so the vixen Seer blames Wigsul for the entire thing. The unlucky weasel is killed by an angry Razzid who then damages Shekra's paw as punishment, but lets her live. Once they arrive at Redwall he heads straight for the main gates but is spooked by the sight of a fire on the walltop (really Thibb holding Martin's blazing sword high above his head), and as he is terrified of fire thanks to the burns suffered while being ambushed by Skor's tribe he flees. This is partially a plan by him as he wants the Redwallers to think he has permanently left, and later one night during a wicked storm he sails his ship as fast as possible across the land towards the main gates. He destroys them but is immediately confronted by the waiting GUOSIM, Long Patrol, and Rogue Crew who engage in battle with the corsairs. Along with Badtooth he manages to sneak into a Kitchen window where they meet a waiting Uggo, who kills the weasel cook with Martin's sword but accidentally drops it. Razzid then cruelly tortures the young hedgehog with his trident, and Posy picks up the sword and runs it through his stomach. Surprisingly enough this does not kill Razzid and he turns on her, but Jum suddenly appears and whacks him hard on the head with his stave as revenge for the brutal murder of his uncle Wullow. This instantly kills the Wearat, and any remaining crew members are slain.
