Raura is an old resident of a den located in a channel between cliffrocks. She has no children, lives here with her friend Slippo, and meets the Salamandastron trio of youngsters while they are fleeing the mountain. While she offers them food and shelter for the night she attempts to persuade them into returning home as she disapproves of runaways, nearly succeeding in making them feel guilty until they leave her home.
