Rapscallion Sword

Appears In: The Long Patrol




This sword is only wielded by the Firstblade of the Rapscallions army and features a curious blade: one side is wavy (representing the sea) and the other is flat (representing the land). During the Throwing of the Sword ceremony, the weapon is tossed into the air and whatever side it falls on determines how the army travels. Gormad favours sailing so he puts a brass clip on the blade so that it will land on the wavy side, however his son Damug prefers to travel over land so he rigs it in a similar way to ensure it will fall on the flat side. The sword is broken when Damug is killed by Cregga.
