Ranguvar is a black-furred resident of an unnamed island located off the North Shore's coast. She is sinewy, one of the few besides badgers to suffer from the Bloodwrath, will use her teeth and claws if no weapons are available, possesses immense bravery, and refuses to surrender to tyranny. Along with the rest of her tribe she is captured and enslaved aboard Goreleech, though it takes several corsairs to bring her to the Death Pit as she fights them every step of the way despite being tied up. As she does not bow down, she is given no food or water and cruelly whipped continuously by Bullflay - though despite bleeding from the wounds she hurls insults at him which eventually causes the weasel to secretly fear her, and at one point she bites off his ear when he gets too close. While the corsairs starve her, the other slaves give her their food and she later meets Luke when he and two others are forced into captivity. The two warriors instantly bond and conceive a daring plan, working with Denno and Dulam to trick Daskar into thinking there is treasure back at the caves. During this time she continues to taunt Bullflay and Fleabitt, and her courage inspires the other prisoners into planning a rebellion. Moments prior to Luke crashing the ship at Tall Rocks she leads the charge, fatally choking Bullflay with his own whip, and is on the stern fending off the corsairs with Luke (who has Daskar locked in an eternal embrace) when the ship sinks to the bottom of the sea. Many seasons later their tale is told to Martin, and afterwards he drops a small pebble into the water where they lay, calling the heroic squirrel his friend.
