Raga Bol - also known as simply Bol - is the tall leader of a rat crew whose ship becomes wrecked on Mossflower's northeast coast. He is sinewy, has green eyes, expertly wields a scimitar and stiletto, and happens upon Grawn and Lonna one night. His crew viciously attacks them, killing the former and severely wounding the latter, though he ends up losing his left paw to Lonna. Wirga places a silver hook on the missing limb, and Bol swears vengeance (though he also develops a very strong fear of badgers). After learning that Lonna is alive and seeking revenge, he takes his crew inland in an attempt to lose him but suffers from insomnia and terrifying nightmares. Wirga tells him that he cannot truly rest until the badger is dead, so he sends out her three sons with Jibsnout to assassinate Lonna. His crew later captures Crinktail and Flinky who have been sent out by Badredd to find reinforcements for their fight against the Redwallers, and Flinky manages to convince Bol to spare them so he can follow the pair to the Abbey upon promises of magic swords as well as treasure. Jibsnout then returns with the news that not only are Wirga's three sons dead, but that Lonna has survived the assassination attempt and he is coming after them. The corsair Captain then secretly kills the other rat so that the crew does not know what he has just learned, then travels to Redwall where he enslaved Badredd's band and conquers the grounds. He tries several times to gain access into the main building but always fails, and after the vermin band manages to escape he sends Blowfly and Glimbo after them but they are both killed by Lonna. He soon finds his crew under attack when Lonna arrives at the Abbey and starts picking off any rats foolish enough to poke their heads above the walltop, and at least a score-and-a-half are slain by the vengeful badger. When a handful of others desert, Bol realizes that he must now focus on surviving instead of conquering Redwall and tells his crew he will challenge Lonna to single combat but if things are not going his way they must hurl spears at his opponent. Before anything can really happen Lonna grabs Bol in a death grip and uses him as a club, and four spears from his own corsairs are accidentally thrown into the rat's back. Any remaining rats are hunted down and killed by the badger, and Bol's scimitar is taken by Horty.
