Quartle - also known as Quarters - is a young resident of Salamandastron where he lives with his best friend Portan. They tend to Tiria when she stays at the mountain fortress but are not initially chosen by Raphael to join her on the trip to Green Isle. The ottermaid challenges the hare Captain on this, saying that she wants the two youngsters to come along, and an impressed Raphael changes his mind. During the journey the pals man the tiller and row the oars, later participating in the final battle against Felis's army. After the warlord's death they return to Salamandastron where they become joint Captains of Fearless Frunk and Purloined Petunia.
