Purslane - a type of annual - is a slave at Marshank where she lives with her husband Groot and son Fuffle. As a skilled cook she helps to prepare meals for the other prisoners, and participates in fighting Badrang's army. Along with her family she escapes with help from Brome and Keyla, and helps in making a celebratory feast. Like her husband she strongly opposes Badrang's rule, and is extremely thankful for her rescuers.
