Pitru is a young resident of Green Isle who wields a sabre and lives at the fortress with his family. He is the son of Felis and Kaltag, and younger brother of Jeefra. Despite the latter being taller and burlier, Pitru is much fiercer and dreams of ruling the island. An angry Felis orders them both to be brought to the barracks to serve as lowly guards after deeming them to be incredibly spoiled, and the ambitious youngster does not appear unfazed by this and even taunts his father as he is being dragged away. During a skirmish against the otterclans the siblings find themselves in a capsized boat in the lake, and he is the first to reach safety. Instead of helping his pleading brother he grabs an oar and smacks him on the head and paws, causing Jeefra to drown. He later claims that the otters are responsible (something that Kaltag believes) though Felis suspects otherwise and has Atunra spy on him. When his father leaves to find the clans, Pitru - who, by this time, already has a following - names himself Fortress Commander and orders Yund to kill Atunra, which he does. When the pine marten's body is discovered the enraged Felis has Yund slain, and Balur warns Pitru that he is possibly next so the young cat leads his group away. They eventually set up a barricade along Deeplough's Rim as they know the otters must cross here to reach Holt Summerdell, but while having larger numbers his group cannot defeat the clans and Long Patrol. In the midst of the fight he meets a Bloodwrath-afflicted Cuthbert who pulls him in and fatally snaps his back with an axehaft, with the cat's body being eaten by Slothunog as the berserk hare hurls both him and a dead Pitru into the crater. All his soldiers are also killed in the battle.
