Piknim is a young resident of Redwall who loves racing with her best friend Craklyn. She participates in the search for the Tears of all Oceans by helping to solve Fermald's riddles, however while attempting to find one of the pearls at Saint Ninian's Church she is killed by Scruvo's gang. Her untimely death causes much grief throughout the Abbey, particularly Craklyn, and during a private service she is buried by Auma and Rangapaw in the Orchard. Her death is foretold by Martin when he visits Tansy in her dreams, as he tells the young hogmaid that although she will find great joy in her search for the pearls she will also find great sorrow.
