Petunia is a beautiful and gentle resident of Salamandastron where she lives with her father Cuthbert. While collecting shells on the beach she is brutally murdered by corsairs, and Cuthbert finds her body. This results in severe mental trauma, and after hunting the vermin down he kills them all before commandeering their ship and renaming her Purloined Petunia.
