Perrit is a young and pretty resident of Redwall who assists in the Kitchen. She is the wife of Dwink, mother of Mittee, and has at least one granddaughter. Along with her pals she aids in the search for the Great Doomwyte Idol jewels and helps Umfry to push an injured Dwink around in a wheelchair after he received a broken footpaw. They bring him to the Cellar to resume their investigation where she finds writing behind a secret door that takes them to the second ruby's location, which is hidden in Torilis's pottery food tray. She later joins several others in the trip into Mossflower to search for the third jewel, meeting Blodd who has the the emerald and refuses to hand it over. The group is tricked into drinking some of her extremely strong mead and, with the exception of Gullub, they become heavily intoxicated; the Foremole saves them when he spills the ant juice onto Blodd which results in her death as she had planned on killing them. After Skurr's death she and Dwink wed, and not long after their daughter is born Perrit is named Abbess by a retiring Glisam. She is the only known Abbey ruler to have a family.
