Parug is the steersrat aboard Goreleech who wields a cane and whip. He is illiterate, has a fiery temper, acts as second mate, runs the crew and anchor, and dishes out any punishment. Along with Akkla and Bullflay he is part of Daskar's inner circle, appears to be more calm than some of the other corsairs, and not as credulous. When various items begin to disappear thanks to Beau and Vurg he thinks it is the mysterious Sea Bogle but is ridiculed for this idea, though in reality he is correct as the fictitious monster is actually Beau, and later ordered to punish the ones falsely deemed responsible. During the final battle he and Akkla round up the corsairs to aid Daskar, and while his death is not specifically mentioned he is either killed by the rebelling oarslaves or when Luke crashes the ship at Tall Rocks.
