Pallum - portrayed as female in the televisions series - is a resident of an unknown place and the ancestor of Bultip. At a young age he is captured by the Highbeasts and serves as the Squidjees' nurse, meeting Martin's group when they too are kidnapped and later being freed with them after Martin saves Dinjer from being eaten by a gannet. He travels with them to Noonvale and participates in the Battle of Marshank, possibly contributing to Badrang's death by blocking a tunnel the Tyrant attempts to escape in; this leads to Rose attacking the stoat and then the duel against Martin that sees Badrang killed.
