Pakatugg is an old and fat resident of Mossflower who keeps his exact location a deep secret. He wields several weapons (but mainly uses a blowpipe), is allies with the Long Patrol, and asked by Clary's group to take Mariel of Redwall. Due to his paranoia he orders her to wear a blindfold and argues with her over food so she eventually leaves. While he manages to shoot some darts at Greypatch's crew he is later captured by them and is freed during the final battle, giving up his freedom to stay behind and fight the corsairs alongside Clary and friends. Along with the Colonel and Thyme he is slain in the gruesome fight.
