Oykamon is the fat ruler of the Toadlands who wields a trident and threatens Mariel when she is pretending to be asleep, claiming that she has trespassed and stolen water from them. The mousemaid is rescued by Clary's patrol, but the angry leader promises to return with larger numbers. He keeps his word but is knocked unconscious by a slingstone from Rosie.
