Oakheart - known as "Oakie" by family and good friends - is the leader of the Witherspyk Performing Players who lives with his family aboard Streamlass. He is the son of Crumfiss, husband of Dymphnia, father of Auroria, Dubdub, Jiddle, Jinty, Rambuculus, and Trajidia, and adoptive father of Rainbow and Rikkle. He wears a large wide-brimmed hat and a cloak, brews a drink called Witherspyk Waterporter, and visits Redwall after two of his children suddenly disappear one night. After the Ravagers are defeated he decides to permanently stay at the Abbey.
