MacPhearsome - a play on "Macphearson", a Scottish surname, and the word "fearsome" - is the gigantic King of the Northern Mountains who greatly admires Dumble and Thrugg's courage when they challenge him. He then allows them to take the precious Flowers of Icetor to bring back to Redwall, joining them on the trip back and carries Dumble in the haversack. Like most northern inhabitants he speaks with a thick accent.
