May is the young Infirmary Keeper during the time of Mattimeo who assists in nursing a wounded Stryk back to health. She is quite intelligent, concocts a successful sleeping potion used to capture the three magpie brothers in Ironbeak's flock, and bites the raven General after he enslaves the woodlanders inside their own home. Stryk later names her daughter after the brave mousemaid.
