Memsy is a young resident of Green Isle and member of its otterclans. She is formerly a slave in Felis's fortress and tells Leatho that Chab, Whulky, and their respective families are tied underneath the pier and that if they do not speak by morning they will be thrown into Deeplough. Some time later she and Runka volunteer to return to the fortress to pose as slaves, but when Leatho is captured by the cats and they attempt to escape Runka is slain by Yund. She meets up with Banya and together they return to Holt Summerdell, though her companion must speak as she is too distraught to say anything.
