Melutar - also known as the Tabura - is an old resident of an unknown place and stays behind to care for his elderly parents when his brother Asheye travels to Salamandastron. He later adopts Salixa after saving her from the vermin who are enslaving her, and he teachers her the way of the Tabura. When Vizka arrives in Mossflower he moves to Redwall where he succeeds Atrata as Infirmary Keeper, and is reunited with his brother after Asheye travels to the Abbey following Gorath's arrival at the mountain (Asheye's journey also fulfills a prophecy made by several deceased Badger Lords). They presumably stay here for the remainder of their seasons.
