Melanda is a young resident of Redwall who lives here with her family. She is the daughter of Tam and Armel, adopted niece of Brooky and Doogy, learns how to wield a sword in her Dibbunhood, becomes an expert of it before she can even walk, and carries Martin's sword on the trip to Araltum's Groves so they can return the recovered Royal Banner. She documents the events of the Season of the Savage and, fifteen seasons later, becomes the youngest creature to hold the title of Abbey Recorder.
